1. Information We Collect

Calculator information

You may enter information such as investment amounts, contribution amounts, interest or return assumptions, savings goals, retirement assumptions, and other financial-planning inputs.

Some calculator information may be stored locally in your browser using browser storage so that calculations and preferences can be restored later.

The portfolio tracker stores portfolio names, symbols, share counts, average costs, filters, saved quote snapshots, public price history, public company-profile responses, and masked imported-account labels locally in your browser. Fidelity, Vanguard, and Schwab CSV files are parsed locally and are not uploaded; full brokerage account numbers are neither retained in the imported portfolio nor sent to us. When market lookup is enabled and you press Search, the search term is sent through MyInvestmentCalc to Marketstack. Search-result Add and Refresh send the requested symbols. Opening a recognized holding’s Overview may send its public exchange-qualified symbol to retrieve company details. Manual Add or Save sends only the symbol and selected Market Identifier Code when you choose a recognized exchange; choosing Manual/not listed makes no market-data request. Names, share counts, average costs, imported account labels, and manually entered fallback prices are not included in those requests. Public instrument prices, split factors, coverage metadata, and normalized company profiles may also be cached in browser IndexedDB and in Cloudflare’s edge cache and D1; portfolios, accounts, and transactions are not written to those public caches.

Information stored only in browser local storage remains on your device unless you use a feature that saves, synchronizes, shares, or otherwise transmits that information to our services.

Account information

If you create an account, we may collect information such as:

• your name;
• email address;
• account identifier;
• authentication information supplied by an identity provider; and
• account settings.

If you sign in using a third-party provider such as Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive information that provider makes available to us in accordance with the permissions you grant.

We do not receive your password for third-party authentication services.

Saved calculations

Account holders may choose to save calculator configurations, comparison scenarios, names, notes, preferences, and related information to their account so that it can be restored or synchronized across devices.

Appearance preferences synchronize automatically when you sign in. These include theme, chart colors and display options, calculator section layouts, expanded and pinned sections, and table column visibility, order, widths, colors and sorting. They are private to your account but are not encrypted with your vault key, so the service can read them and another signed-in device can restore them without unlocking your vault. Financial inputs, holdings, selected symbols, scenario names and saved session contents are excluded from this appearance store.

Saved session contents, titles, folders and favorites are encrypted in your browser before upload. Your separate vault passphrase or recovery key unlocks them. We cannot recover that key for you. Your account identifier, email, access grants, ciphertext sizes, revisions and timestamps remain visible to the service. Browser-delivered code is part of this security boundary. While a private session is open, its calculator state stays in memory; device drafts are stored encrypted in IndexedDB. Signing out or locking returns financial inputs to their previous local state; appearance remains independent of saved sessions.

Remember me on this device is enabled by default. After you unlock, this browser retains a non-exportable encryption key so you can return without typing your passphrase again. The passphrase and unlocking key are not sent to our server. Use this on a personal device: the browser retains the ability to decrypt your saved content. Lock vault or sign out to forget its unlock. Unchecking remembering removes the retained key and keeps unlocking only for the current page; clearing website data also removes it.

Open calculators do not periodically recheck PRO access. Navigation and viewing Account details check your current access; account saves and appearance synchronization remain protected by server authorization. Tab hiding, inactivity and temporary connection failures do not erase remembered vault keys.

Payment information

The current account prototype does not collect payments or start subscriptions. Verified accounts receive 30 days of prototype PRO access. Future paid subscriptions are planned to use Stripe; payment processing is not active in this prototype.

Stripe may collect payment-card information, billing information, transaction details, and other information necessary to process payments and manage subscriptions.

We do not store complete payment-card numbers on our servers when payments are processed through Stripe-hosted payment services.

Technical and usage information

When you use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically process technical information such as:

• IP address;
• browser and device type;
• operating system;
• pages visited;
• approximate location derived from IP address;
• timestamps;
• diagnostic information; and
• advertising identifiers or similar identifiers where applicable.

2. Cookies and Similar Technologies

MyInvestmentCalc may use cookies and similar technologies, including browser local storage.

We may use these technologies to:

• remember calculator inputs and preferences;
• maintain authentication sessions;
• provide security and prevent abuse;
• remember privacy choices;
• measure use of the Service; and
• display advertising.

Where required by applicable law, non-essential technologies are used only after appropriate consent has been obtained.

You can review or change applicable choices through the Privacy Choices link on the website.

3. Advertising

The free version of MyInvestmentCalc may display advertising provided by Google AdSense and its advertising partners.

Google and other advertising providers may use cookies, local storage, device information, IP addresses, and similar technologies to deliver, measure, limit, or personalize advertising, depending on your location and privacy choices.

Where required, we ask for consent before allowing personalized advertising or related storage.

Paid MyInvestmentCalc Pro accounts are intended to use the Service without MyInvestmentCalc advertising while the applicable Pro subscription remains active.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide calculators and related functionality;
• create and administer user accounts;
• save and synchronize calculations;
• process subscriptions and payments;
• provide customer support;
• operate and secure the Service;
• prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
• comply with legal obligations;
• understand and improve the Service; and
• display advertising to eligible free users.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate MyInvestmentCalc, including:

• hosting and infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare;
• market-data providers such as Marketstack when portfolio lookup is enabled;
• authentication providers;
• Stripe for payments and subscription management if paid subscriptions are introduced;
• Google for advertising; and
• other vendors that provide necessary technical or operational services.

These providers process information according to their respective agreements and privacy practices.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect users or the Service, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect our legal rights.

If MyInvestmentCalc or its business is acquired, merged, reorganized, or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Retention

We retain account information and saved calculations for as long as reasonably necessary to provide your account and the Service.

If you delete saved calculations or your account, we will delete or de-identify associated information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or other legitimate purposes.

Some information may remain temporarily in backups before those backups are replaced.

Payment and transaction records may be retained for the periods required by applicable tax, accounting, or other legal requirements.

7. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to:

• access information about you;
• correct inaccurate information;
• delete information;
• obtain a copy of certain information;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; and
• opt out of certain advertising or data-sharing practices.

You may also delete saved calculations through your account where this functionality is available.

We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

8. International Users

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers of personal information.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information.

However, no Internet service or method of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

MyInvestmentCalc is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13.

Users must meet applicable legal-age requirements to purchase a paid subscription.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice where required.
